Small action, real stability

Three taps. One place kept stronger.

No points to collect. No discount hunting. Just a small, regular commitment to a place you genuinely value—and a clear view of what the community is making possible.

1

Spot a place you love

Scan its QR code in-store, or find it on your local map. Every participating business is independently owned and verified.

2

Choose your backing

Join as a £1 Backer, £5 Regular or £10 Cornerstone. The £1 tier is charged as £12 annually so card fees don't eat it.

3

See what you sustain

Follow the collective total and receive occasional updates—not a content treadmill, just honest proof that small commitments add up.

The quiet truth

Goodwill is valuable. Until now, it couldn't pay the electricity bill.

Local places accumulate years of trust, memories and affection. One Pound a Month turns a little of that social capital into predictable income—before the closure notice appears in the window.

Small change, proper numbers

What could local backing mean for your shop?

It isn't intended to replace customers. It adds a calm, recurring layer beneath normal trade—money that arrives because people value your continued presence.

iThe public promise should stay radically transparent: a clear 10% platform fee, with payment processing charged at cost. No listing fee and no pay-to-rank.

Good questions

Clear from the start.

Trust is the product. Fees, renewal dates, cancellation and where the money goes should never be buried.

No. It is a voluntary commercial support membership for an independent business. It is not an investment, gives no ownership or financial return, and should not be presented as charitable giving.

Not by default. The purpose is to strengthen the shop rather than cost it margin. Some businesses may offer occasional invitations or small thank-yous, but backing is not store credit.

Twelve separate £1 card charges would lose too much to fixed processing fees. Charging £12 once a year preserves far more of the backing while keeping the promise literally equivalent to £1 a month.

Yes. Every supporter gets a simple dashboard showing the places they back, renewal dates and cancellation controls. No phone calls and no hidden exit route.

The initial focus is verified, independently owned, place-based businesses: shops, cafés, bakeries, pubs, venues, studios and other local places with a genuine community relationship.

Small change. Stronger high streets.

A place stays alive because people keep choosing it.

Make one of those choices automatic. Back an independent place you want to remain part of your town.
